Stafford Police Find Gun, Drugs During Arrest of Wanted Man

A wanted Spotsylvania man had drugs and a gun on him when police arrested him earlier this week, authorities said.

Johnny Jones, 36, was arrested on Wednesday, May 25, after he encountered Stafford County officers just after midnight in the parking lot of a motel on Warrenton Road, police said. He had an outstanding warrant from Spotsylvania County. 

As police searched his car they found a handgun and what they believe was Molly, a form of ecstasy or MDMA, Stafford County Police said. 

Jones is being held in the  Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Officials charged him with possession of controlled substance, possession of a firearm with a controlled substance, concealed weapon and his outstanding warrant, police said.
